Crowdsourcing

I’ve been thinking a lot about crowdsourcing lately, particularly how organizations can benefit by tapping the intellectual power (or sweat equity) of their customer base in helping build more reliable and relevant products. Josh Cantone over at ReadWriteWeb has listed out some of the crowdsource models that have cropped up in the last year or so. From a product development perspective, IdeaScale is particularly interesting. I don’t think we’ve arrived at the perfect platform to scale crowdsourcing for most companies, nonetheless, it’s an important trend that will matter to all types of companies in the coming years.
